That’s a wrap!

Our “Golden” Harvest Celebration brought together farmers, eaters and food system leaders for an evening of fellowship and the finest local food sourced from nearby farms. This year’s event was hosted at the historic and picturesque Indian Creek Farmstead in Petersburg.

At this year’s Golden Harvest Celebration, we enjoyed a locally-sourced dinner expertly crafted by:

Chef Joe Standley, Proud Richards:
  • Pork shoulder with creamy polenta, finished with carrot gravy, arugula chimichurri, and poached cherry tomatoes
  • Sweet corn, jalapeño polenta bites, with house-made mayo, lime, hot honey, queso fresco, and cilantro
  • Pork locally sourced and generously donated by 4 Lees Farm and produce from Meyer Farms

Chef Michael Higgins, Maldaners:
  • Harvest medley pasta with tomato cream sauce
  • Tomato platter with bleu cheese, balsamic reduction and house made garlic croutons
  • Watermelon and feta salad with mint and red onion
  • Ingredients locally sourced from the Old Capitol Farmers Market

Chefs Corey and Emily Faucon, Mom + Pop’s:
  • House made butter rolls
  • Brown butter chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cream pies and gluten free brownies
  • Flour locally sourced by Janie’s Mill

We also enjoyed an exclusive Golden Harvest Ale made just for this occasion by Engrained Brewing

With music by the Colin Helton Band, and a silent auction featuring fabulous local food and farm items

For those of you who attended, thank you for joining us for an evening of local food, fellowship and celebration as we honored our first 50 years and made a toast to this next chapter.
